The president of the Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic, Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, arrived in the city of Peekskill on Sunday, March 19, in order to support the Mobile Operation, which was offered for two days so that Dominicans in this area can carry out their consular procedures and electoral registration.

During his speech, Jáquez Liranzo expressed the possibility of opening an Electoral College in Peekskill, in order to facilitate voting for the large number of Dominican citizens in this area of the Hudson Valley.

In September 2002, the Central Electoral Board began a logistical campaign of mobile operations having as its central hub in New York, the New York Central Electoral Office. As part of its project for more Dominicans to be able to vote, in the coming weeks the JCE will carry out a pre-registration campaign.

Each polling station has 5 workers. Then another campaign will start in January 2024, because it is useless that we have 1.1 million voters if only 15 or 20% of them vote. The motto will be “Vote for the homeland that you carry inside”. We have to work hard and with time”, said Jáquez Liranzo.
