Grandpas United will hold its annual Awards Breakfast on Thursday, December 15 at 8:30am. m. honoring three grandparents, for their community service, and two civic leaders for their support of this intergenerational program.
The grandparents who will be honored for their dedication to our community are Dr. Vito Sessa, Marc Sharff and Dean Wiltshire. The Grandpas United Civic Leadership Awards winners are New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and White Plains Police Chief Joseph Castelli.
Grandpas United has more than 125 grandparents throughout Westchester County, with chapters in White Plains, Port Chester, Ossining, New Rochelle and Peekskill Townships.
Their mission is to use the talents, skills and experiences of grandparents to improve communities. They aspire to serve as male role models and mentors to enhance the growth and development of youth, while sharing their talents and experiences with one another, enabling them to maintain their dignity and self-esteem.
