The City of White Plains will host its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 9:00 AM. m. in Liberty Park on Lake Street, the site of the city’s permanent 9/11 memorial.

The ceremony will include messages from Mayor Tom Roach, Westchester County Executive George Latimer, the Honorable Walter Rivera, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah; the laying of a wreath and the laying of bouquets by members of the White Plains Common Council; as well as music and reflections on this historic day.

The Community Youth Court program was once again named an official partner for this year’s 9/11 Memorial and National Service Day.

This year, juvenile court participants will honor sixty-five victims by reading a short biography and sharing where they are remembered at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City; in addition, the six White Plains residents who died on September 11, 2001 will be honored, as this city does each year.

The special 9/11 Flag of Honor, which includes the names of the 2,983 victims who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993, will be displayed at the ceremony and later in the City Hall Rotunda.
