The Yonkers casino, called Empire City Casino, reported that Tatiana Díaz has returned to the company as community affairs manager. Diaz previously served as the sales and catering manager at Empire City, but she left that role before MGM Resorts acquired the casino. In her new position, Díaz will play an important role in implementing communication strategies and community engagement for one of the largest private employers in the region.

The iconic entertainment destination has been in business since 1899 and is known for its deep community ties and will continue to support and expand those relationships.

As the closest casino to Manhattan, Empire City historically welcomes more than nine million annual visitors from the Tri-State area and beyond – that’s more than double the number of visitors to the iconic Statue of Liberty, from in which a significant demographic is Spanish-speaking.

Díaz developed strong relationships and partnerships with local businesses, non-profit organizations and important community groups in the county. Prior to that position, he was the sales and catering manager for Empire City, managing all in-casino and off-casino catering events, promotional events and trade shows, and the conceptualization and implementation of player marketing events for the casino’s most high level.

“I am excited to rejoin the Empire City team,” Diaz said, “This new role will allow me to use my skills and experience to support the company as it prepares to bring this historic destination to its full potential. As the world leader in the industry, MGM Resorts gives me the opportunity to continue developing a career without limits.”

Díaz has received various recognitions for her work, including being named, in 2018, as one of the 40 Under 40 Rising Stars by the Business Council of Westchester. In 2021 she was the only Latina named by 914 Inc. magazine as one of Westchester’s Women in Business. A recognition that honors women who have truly stood out, not only in their professional lives but also as leaders and role models in their communities.
